If you are missing some or all of your teeth, dentures can restore your smile and make it easier to speak and eat like your old self. Or, if you already have dentures but feel that they don’t look natural or fit well, investing in a new set of high-quality dentures can eradicate discomfort and improve your self-esteem.
In this blog post, we’ll be talking about the many surprising benefits of dentures, and why you should choose 543 for life-like and long lasting partial or full dentures.
What are dentures?
Dentures are essentially just replacement teeth. You could have a ‘partial denture’, which is made of acrylic or chrome and is anchored to your existing teeth. The other option is ‘full dentures’, these are removable and made to fit snugly onto your gums and roof of the mouth. Dentures need to be removed at night to give the gums a rest.
7 benefits of dentures – some might surprise you!
- Restore your smile and confidence
Dentures replace missing teeth and restore the look of a complete set of teeth. This can be a great boost to self-esteem, allowing you to smile with confidence once again. - Speak clearly again
Whether you’re missing all of your teeth or just one or two, dentures will fill the gaps and allow you to pronounce words more easily and speak clearly again. - Eating is made easy
If you’re missing all of your teeth, dentures allow you to regain the ability to eat normally again. If you have remaining teeth, dentures can also reduce the pressure of chewing and spread the load across the whole mouth. - They help keep your other teeth in position
For those with remaining teeth, one of the side effects of missing teeth is that the other teeth begin to drift into the gaps. Having dentures to replace the missing teeth will help to prevent this happening. - Easy to look after
Removable dentures should be cleaned at least once per day. Luckily, they’re incredibly quick and easy to clean using a toothbrush and hand soap. You will also need to remove the dentures at night and place them in cold water. - An affordable option for many
The cost of dentures varies depending on whether you require partial dentures or full dentures, with the former costing less. Dentures at 543 are an investment in a high-quality solution that feels comfortable, looks natural, and will last you a long time. Dentures are guaranteed for one to two years, but should last about five years with proper maintenance and care. We also have finance options available, allowing patients to spread the cost. - They can look incredibly life-like
At 543, all our dentures are hand-finished by our skilled team of dental technicians in 543’s own in-house lab. We also have two Certified Dental Technicians (CDTs), who have undertaken special training to combine the skills of a dentist with those of a technician. This allows our patients to benefit from their in-depth knowledge of teeth shape and structure, receiving highly personalised and lifelike dentures.
How it works
The process of getting dentures at 543 takes just 5 easy steps to ensure a comfortable and life-like result.
Step 1: Initial appointment
During the first appointment, impressions will be taken of your teeth so that our lab team can make a custom dentures model.
Step 2: Measuring your bite
Patients return a week later to have their bite measured, allowing us to create a denture that fits seamlessly with the opposing teeth.
Step 3: The trial denture
After another week, patients return to try on a trial denture that has been made with their newly created teeth. If they are happy with the result, we will go ahead and prepare the final denture. If not, a second trial denture can be made.
Step 4: The final fitting
Two weeks later, the final denture is fitted. The denture should fit snugly onto the gums and roof of the mouth without the need for denture adhesive.
Step 5: Review
We recommend that patients return to the practice a couple of weeks after their final fitting to ensure everything is perfect.
