As we get into the warm summer months there is no better time to treat yourself to some teeth whitening for a summer-ready smile. Here at 543 Dental Centre, we offer whitening which can be performed both at the practice or from the comfort of your own home.

Speedy in-practice whitening

For our in-practice whitening, we use Zoom! This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to whiten your teeth as the entire process takes just 90 minutes, so it’s perfect to fit into even the most hectic schedule.

Zoom! in-practice whitening treatment is carried out by a dentist in the practice in one appointment and can whiten teeth by up to eight shades in an hour, making your dream smile achievable in a lunchbreak!

Or take it easy at home

At 543 Dental Centre, we also offer dentist-prescribed home whitening. It involves a consultation at the practice so that one of our dentists can prescribe a suitable course of whitening treatment for you. We’ll then create bespoke whitening trays and show you how to apply it at home.

Each day, you’ll fill your trays with the prescription whitening gel and wear them for a short amount of time over a period of around two weeks, or a time recommended by your dentist. It’s whitening treatment in the comfort of your own home and in your own time.

Leave it to the professionals…

Many people are unaware that whitening carried out by your dentist is the only legal way to effectively whiten your teeth.  Although they might talk the talk, over the counter whitening products cannot legally contain enough whitening agent to have any real effect on the shade of your teeth.

The opposite can be true of whitening products available online. As they are often unregulated, they can contain dangerous amounts of hydrogen peroxide that could seriously damage your teeth. For more information about the dangers of unregulated whitening products, read our blog from last year.

Whilst you might assume that anyone offering whitening treatment is qualified to do so, this is not the case. For instance, beauticians are not allowed to administer whitening treatment, although many do offer it as one of their services. In fact, only those who are registered with the BDA as a dentist can legally offer teeth whitening. For more information on the laws around this, just click here.

At 543 Dental Centre, our dentists will provide safe, effective whitening so that you can achieve the summer smile you’ve been dreaming about.
